Been researching the heck out of the Friedman amps, pedals, IR pedals lately and debating if I want to purge some of my Music Gear towards said Friedman 🤔

Some thoughts on what to do:

1. Get a Friedman BE-OD Deluxe pedal to use through the front end or effects loop return of my unused it's Marshall Artist 3203 hybrid head & matching 1965A 4x10 cab for bedroom practice rig and use the line out of the Marshall head towards a USB mixer recording interface.

2. Sell the Marshall Artist 3203 head and some other unused music gear & get either a Friedman Runt 20 or 50 head, JEL20 or BE50 Deluxe head or get the Combo variant of either of those amps.

I was in a Classic Rock to Early 2000's covers band for over 10 years that just disbanded before Christmas time and trying to get motivated and inspired to play more!

Find a way to try one out before you sell anything you have. They have their own polished sound that lives in the Marshall camp and you won't be sure if you like it unless you try it out first.

I agree with pipboy90, you could get a Friedman and not dig it. Good to try one.

With that said, I had a Friedman JJ Jr. and Pink Taco V2 head and both were great amps. Can play at bedroom levels too.

echoing what others have said....guitar center and musicians friend (same company) sell friedman products. order it and try it. you have a 45 day no questions asked money back guarantee.

definitely don't sell anything until you've tried it. i love dave's products because they're awesome, but why buy before trying if you can?

I agree with that, when it comes to the amps! The BE-OD Deluxe pedal however can go from polished to pretty gnarly, since you have a full EQ + presence and tight controls per channel. Also, by bringing down the internal gain trimpots, it covers so much ground! Having owned the Bogner XTC red and blue pedals, where each had its own strengths, I feel like the BE-OD Deluxe pedal is more amp-like *and* it can go from subtle, low-gain classic rock stuff all the way to that hotrodded, screaming and thick Marshall-esque stuff.

But yeah, everytime I gigged on a festival where some other bands brought a Friedman amp, it had this thick, gooey, polished sound and none of that raspiness or kerrang that a lot of classic Marshalls are known for and cut through the mix so well.

But...all that being said, I also agree with all the advice above of trying it out first. I had the Artist 3203 myself and while it had fun uses, I sold it.
The 1965A cab (4x10) is fun to hang on though by the way. It'll work great in combination with some Marshall(inspired) circuits. I gigged that cab with an EVH 50W 6L6 for a while. Sold it to make room, but I still have both 2x12 cabs from that time.
