Someone @ TGP crying bout his Murphy aged.
I have a 30'ish yr old CS LP [non relic] with plenty of natural checking that looks nothing like this crap.

Yep, real aged check looks nothing like that. After 20 yrs of never cleaning my bought new 1991 Hamer USA, I finally wiped/buffed the finish and wow the checking was awesome. Like a moron I sold it. Ugh.
 
I did my own finish checking on my beat up LP for fun. This.... This is a mistake of creation.....kill it...
 
Always go for the light aged… looks killer and not as expensive…. Looks like they are still experimenting with the thermal aging process
 
Here's a 1997 [non relic] CS 68 RI LPC with natural 27 year checking. Nowhere does the finish feel rough or cracked anywhere.
