So... after years of drooling I'm getting an Engl SE

EL34 version :rock: I did a trade deal plus cash on my end for my Invader. I'm excited as hell!!! I remember seeing it for the first time and saying to myself, "That looks really cool but I'll never afford it". Well, hard work has paid off. Yay for me!!! I had a Spider II when I first started drooling and didn't think I'd make it much further. Promotions at work = :rock: Starting your own business = :rock:
 
That is a BAD ASS amp! Practically ever feature on the thing is MIDI switchable. :shocked: Its nuts! Not to mention how it sounds. :yes:

Let me know what you think of it compared to the Invader. I was thinking of trading up for the SE el34 as well but I do like the Invader.

The Invader is going to be hard to top! EXCELLENT amp! I'm confident the SE can out do it though :) The amp will be here Friday, I'll play with it over the weekend and post a review next week :yes:
 
i like my se better than either of the invaders i had.

Rock the freak on :rock: After playing my buddies retubbed Powerball again this past weekend it got me really wanting to hear some of ENGL's top end stuff.
 
engls have recently gone up in price i think? still, great tones from the ones ive heard
 
Had the SE EL34 for over a year. One of my top 2 favorite amps ever! I till will be a hard one to beat.

I played one at the Boston guitar show this past fall for about an hour and absolutely loved it.

I LOVED my Powerball after a good retube. The secret with those is a Tung Sol in V1 and a 5751 in V2 :yes: A good set of SED power tubes didn't hurt either! The Tung Sol seemed to give the amp some dimension and the 5751 tamed some of the gain/compression making it more pick responsive.

I ordered the same thing and a few others to try with the SE :rock: Can't WAIT!!! Three more days.
