Yes, it's been discussed multiple times here and the first I heard about it was several months ago from the Axe Palace when they were selling their last one and mentioned they wouldn't be able to order anymore 🤷‍♂️
 
The real question is whether it’s being replaced by a similar successor or if the 2-channel Reissue is the only thing they’re doing moving forward.

If it’s the latter, then yeah that’s kinda bullshit. If it’s the former, then who knows. The jump from the original 3-channel to the Multi Watt was a complete improvement to the amp in basically every way, so it's not necessarily the case that "newer version = worse version" like the trap so many companies seem to fall into these days.

No way to make any real judgement until we get more info.

Mesa says it is discontinued. Mesa has always discontinued models when sales slow. Nothing has changed.
 
I’m told it’s being updated and that the current version is discontinued. Probably getting the cab clone and other fuckery the newer Mesa stuff has. Maybe midi as well.
 
MW should be abundant on the used market for a long time. I'm not sure which era or version has sold the most, but the MW is the longest running era and has probably been revised or altered by far the least of any era.

Turns out this was a pre-multi watt 3 channel and I just don't know my rectifiers well enough lol.

Quick glance on Reverb suggests this is still a deal.
 
Since it's Gibson they'll probably sink everything they have into the Badlander as their flagship recto.

Meh, I don't really like Rectos to begin with and this is actually the first one I've played outside of Guitar Center. Still not my cup of tea though, so no regrets about "ruining" it.

And it's not like Hermansson's sounds anything like a Recto anyway lol.
 
The new ones will have direct out/cab IR. You heard it here. Unless I'm wrong, then it was someone else.

I hope not. I much prefer the MW over the Badlander. Not that the Badlander is "worse", but I'm not even sure as to what makes a Badlander a Recto to begin with, personally.
