So how similar are Bogner and Diezel cabs?

I keep hearing the comparison. I picked up a Mesa 2x12 yesterday, but I've already gone back to my Bogner 4x12 even before the Einstein gets here. I'll obviously compare the two with the Diezel but I have a feeling which one will win.

Which brings me to, how similar are the Diezel and Bogner cabs? As I say, I keep hearing the comparison - what's the story?

I have 2 bogner cabs and 1 diezel cab. All rear-loaded. Cosmetics aside, they are virtually identical in construction. I'm not sure that is the same case for cabs made in Europe.

Tonally?

Bogner and Diezels are totally different.. Bogner is with Diezel amp muddy..less articulation and bass response..maybe bit closer to Diezel Rerarloaded, but in comparison with Diezel frontloaded..totally muddy and less articulation and bass response. I don´t recommend it for diezel amp. Bogner amps are really midrange and trebly so that Bogner cabinet is OK with it.. but for Diezel..don´t buy it.. you´ll lost all, that Diezel are good at. Go with Diezel Froantloaded cabinet. It is the best.. ;)

I have two cabs at the minute. Bogner 4x12 and Mesa 2x12. So I guess I'll discover which of those sounds best first...

Since you're in London it would be very easy to get the new Diezel cabs made in Germany - totally different from the ones sold up until half a year ago. The smoke any cab I have ever heard, and the construction surpasses anything I have seen so far - besides a real custom cab made for a friend of mine by a no name guy...but my Diezel cab sounds better. :D

Well my diezel is all v30s and my bogners are v30/g12t75 and v30/g12h30 so they sound different due to the speakers. If I had all v30s in one of the bogners, I don't doubt it would sound the same. My Diezel cab is about 2 years old and the bogners are about 3 and 1 years old. The Diezel cabs in Eurpoe are different so the ones you would get really can't compare.

Although I haven't tried a Dizel cab, I do agree. Diezel sounds best with frontloaded speakers. My Bogner head sounds great with rearloaded, but tends to be too muddy for the Herberts big bottom end. The front loaded always sounds tighter on the bottom.

Front loaded or rear loaded preference really depends on your amp, style, guitar, and a million other things. The Diezel cabs new construction and speakers are different then the "older" ones. The new cabs sound absolutely fantastic IMO....

There is also a very noticeable difference in the grill cloth.
