So If you had a......

.....Mod 100, Mod 50, M4 and an RM100. What do you keep?

Here's the deal. I have waaay too much gear. My mancave is too crowded. I currently have 9 guitars, 4 heads, 2 preamps and I just can't justify it. I'm back to regular gigging but only need 2 rigs: one for bigger venues/shows and one for smaller club deals. I have no desire to have a huge rig. Recently I've been using the Mod 50 for the smaller clubs and then add the MOD 100 to the rig for the bigger venues. The Randall is the backup head and/or power amp for a couple small 1x12 monitors right out of rack so i don't have to have any guitar in the monitor mix. The rack is small (compared to some on here :D ) and houses an RJM switcher, some pedals and one of a few different FX units. Recently added an M4 so that will be in the rack as well. I've got all the bases covered module wise and really only fall back to 3-4 guitars on a regular basis-mostly 2 though.
I'm also in the process of redoing the home studio so I could use some extra cash.

so my question is to my fellow Egheads.......
What would you keep?
Mod 50 and M4?
Mod 50 and Mod 100?
or, All of em!

Keep the Mod 100 for a while longer, you can always pick up a M4 any other time. You sell that Mod 100, you are  'd...

The question is,do you have to? :D I would keep the M4,that's for sure,Mod100 for sure and now they're gonna have the upgrade. Fuck it ,I'd keep it all!!!  Sorry Bro,I'm no help at all!!!

I'd for sure keep the Mod100. The real question is...do you use rack effects or pedal effects? If you use rack effects, I'd keep the Mod100 and the M4. if you don't...then I'd keep the Mod100 / Mod50. Either way you're doing well man.

For me...i am keeping a Mod50 and a M4. Mod50 I can take w/ a 1x12 cab to a rehearsal / small gig.. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to use for effects though. I'm thinking of just making a pedalboard w/ a G System, BB preamp, SD, and a EVH Phase 90 with a wah Pedal. Use that for rehearsals...and small gigs. And then use my 10-space rack / 4x12 for bigger gigs and recording. Personally, I'll end up using my small gig for most everything though.

If I had a Mod50 and a Mod100, I'd be honestly. Maybe I'll just sell my VHT power amp, use a switcher and use the M4 / Mod50 as my rig :) Then I could just have two pedalboards :)

The possibilities are endless!! The Mod100 is a beast though. If the E2 was out....I'd consider just having a Mod50 and Mod100. Then you could have 2 pedalboad setup...one that had everything on the pedalboard (like w/ the G System), and then another with a rack full of stuff. :)

But I know I'd be hardpressed selling my VHT 2/90/2. I just plain love it to death :) That's why I'm setting up a rig to do just that.

I will die with my M4

the Mod 50 sounds awesome

the mod 100 is probably magical, and you'd be stupid to sell it.

IMO, of course,

There is something to be said for that "small" rig Nick. I know it kills.

I don't know...I don't think I could gig on Nick's rig :) That pedalboard looks too much like a "toy" for me!!! hAHAHAHAHA j/k :)

I'm not good at "pedal dancing" :)

Trust me, that pedalboard is all I can handle... switching channels and singing at the same time = HUGE pain in the ass. You want to maintain that "I'm rocking you like a hurricane" look on your face while singing, not "hmm, and I on channel 3 or 4" look.

Matt is the tap-dancer in the band. He's working mission control over there while I'm singing.

That's why you need a full on midi setup man :) One button click to end them all!!! :) That's why I went to rack in the first place...because I had a pedalboard with tons of pedals...and I figured out a way to get all of those sounds from one thing. Hit a program change...and your done...turns on pedals...turns off pedals...switches your amp...etc..all in one button click :)

So much easier than turning on/off pedals one at a time. I've used a switcher and MIDI pedal for several years now and there is no better way to run a rig for live performances, IMO.

 agreed!

I have to agree. I attempted to go without for a while and went straight back to programing. It takes a little time investment up front to have your patches all set in advance, but once your done BAM! you just hit a switch and you're there.

Ditto, You need a midi pedalboard set-up. It's a pain in the ass setting up at first, once it's done BAM! BAM!
