I am not one who needs other approval when I find something that I like and buy it, but that said.. it is sad to see a lot of people totally trashing the Eg online.

seriously what is up with all the bad comments on youtube and TGP? people claiming this amp stinks?
Are people ignorant, wanting attention, or afraid of a well done Asia made amp, or just not able to dial it in?

for example....

I have read mostly overall good comments regarding the tourmaster. its not for everybody, and you can read through the people who don't know what they are talklinga bout, and those who do.

its a great amp, and I think the majorit would agree, even if its not for them.

I played it @ GC. It was the best amp in the store that day.

I think many people expect it to sound scooped, modern, and forgiving like a Cobra or a Diezel or something, and they are disappointed.

It's a great amp for $1400.

screw the haters.

I think it's a combo of the fact that people don't know how to dial it in and not every amp if for everybody. It took me a while to dial in my 4212 but since I have I love it. In fact I'm contemplating selling my Nitro and buying the TM head

All you have to do is read into the comments a bit, when someone says that he cant hear the difference between 100 watts and 20 watts, hes probably talking out of his ass.

Exactly. The long version on the naiveté of tone economics: There is a significant % of modern amp consumers who think that through some great swindle in the time-space-amp modeling-internet-fantasy-land-continuum, that since they have downloaded their entire music catalog for free, listened to lots of heavy bands who recored with amp modelers into $900,000 SSL boards (with every note edited by Tom Lord-Alge), played three $3,500 amps at their favorite boutique shop, and read lots of TGP posts about John Mayer's Dumble, they are now entitled to get Diamond, Diezel or Two-Rock tone though some divine economic providence courtesy of the big corporate brother's keeper, Guitar Center. People, people, people...$1,400 won't even rent you a hall for yous kid's bat mitzvah these days. Jeezuz!!! We're not getting free drinks on dad's country club white Gatsby card kids. Geduhfugoudaheah!

So, in summary my point has nothing to do with the Guitar Center Egnater, but all about people's naive and childish expectations.

...Couldn't have said it better... ;)

Ahhh. Remember, success has its enemys- Most guys are probably pissed that they bought a single channel amp for the same price and are scratching their heads because the 4100 has way more to offer and smokes their tone to boot so they are having hard times selling their crap on e-bay. Opinions are just that : )

I don't know I guess I don't get it either. There are plenty of amps, some that you guys on this forum dig, that I can't stand teh sound of. Never felt it to do myself or anyone any good to fire off BS about dissing them though.

That said, there are also a lot of good things I've heard and read on places like TGP where people are pretty respectful of Egnater and I think the REBEL is going to alter the amp land scape when it hits the streets. That one is gonna be hard to fnd a gripe with.

Screw them. They can have their overpriced, overhyped one dimensional crapamps...it leaves more Egnater tone for those of us who know. If they're not willing to spend more than 2 minutes dialing in their tone, they don't deserve an Egnater anyway.
