Yeah I have all those. The Mythical OD works best but the BB isn't far behind. The SD-1 has its place but it's noisy. I love the flexibility of the low input on the JCM. It takes pedal so well you can get all kinds of different sounds. I am ordering an SLO plus pedal and see if I can't juice this thing with that.
Yeah this or a BE-OD should get you there goosing them with an OD. Either way good stuff man and looks killer. Great buy and if your getting anything like that Great time because they ain't making anymore vintage 800s and they aren't getting cheaper.

Seeing the Pete Cage amp in the pic makes me wonder if you got this from Atomic. I think I walked right past you when you and the employee were looking for this head.
Wasn't me. Is there a Pete Cage amp somewhere for sale?

I know a guy that used to boost his JMC800's with the old Marshall Guv'nor and that pedal kicked alot of ass........................

Nice! I have a 4104 from '82 with 6550's that I really like. I'm thinking I'll probably keep it as 6550's, but we'll see. Here's a video from a RT member comparing the two.

I noticed today while doing some blind tests to see which I liked best that the clips for the different tubes aren't normalized to the same volume. The EL34 clips are anywhere from around 0.5dBFS to 1.2dBFS louder than the 6550 clips. Normalizing them makes them sound much closer IMO, more than they already do, and the sense I originally got of the EL34's just having "something more" almost entirely goes away. I guess that "something more" was volume. At some point I'll post some blind shuffled-up comparisons clipped from @Bxlxaxkxe's tracks (he said it's fine) to see what the rest of yous think when you can't see what's what and the volumes are equalized.
