and one for..............Veinschmibert4!

 I KNOW the amp, but I wanna know which mic and mic pre you used! :gethim:

sorry :(

Maybe you were overloading the mic pre or converters in the recording chain & that's what I'm hearing.

I think its the Einstein.
We would like to know, you have all the people with intrigue right now....

Well i dont know why people say it sounds like a modeler.

maybe its becuase of the verb on some of those tracks

I actually tracked the whole thing with the Herbert with the gain down and just some slight tweaks of the knobs not far from the 12 o clock position.

I do run the depth nearly off and the presence around 10.

Cab was the Rivera silent sister iso cab loaded with a scumback speaker.

no, it's not because of the verb. your track has some digital distortion in it, I don't know where it's coming from, but it's definitely not the Herbert. If that's what your Herbert sounds like, then maybe you should get it checked.
i'm not trying to make you feel bad. when I was starting miking amps I have had a lot of recording guys tell me this kind of shit & I know better than anybody how it feels. however it brought me to where I am & I still get a lot of bad remarks & i've learned to appreciate them, because that gives me the necessary drive to improve my work.
you should not run your deep all the way down, bring it back to 12:00 & start there. I can't really see myself getting a great tone out of Herbert with deep control anywhere below 11:00.

here is a clip from the beginning of my quest & i've been doing it for a few months already.

see, I suck

There is some nasty crackling going on there. It sounds like you should check the levels in the mix, it crackles more when the other instruments come in and the total level rises... I'm no mix expert, but I think you should have limiting on the total mix to prevent overloading when the total level gets too high.
