So, who has taken a CCV out in public?

Time for the CCV to spring into action on stage this coming weekend. It is balls to the wall at practice level in the Man Cave. I am a little unsure in a live setting on set-up and all the EQ options. I have played strictly with the Cameron Aldrich mod the last couple of years, which is cake to set up. This is going to be the 2nd round of a Budweiser Battle of the Bands and we have 30 minutes. We'll be playing:

Sad But True
Check My Brain
Man in the Box
Sober
Paranoid
Master of Puppets

ps: I would really love to have my Mark IIC+ back about now! But, the CCV can scoop pretty good for some brutal Metallica tone.
 
I've had her out gigging and on tours for almost 3 years =) and in the studio on a bunch of records...

what you'll notice right away is how well it cuts through everything. The Aldrich fills the room more but the ccv has such a unique mid slice. You don't even have to be that loud, and you still will slice through the mix. Nothing quite like it, and forget the boogies ! :D

Oh, it will fill the room....I mic the cab and also run a Palmer DI thru-box through to the FOH mixing board. So, I can split up the FOH on two separate channels. They'll get a lot of me :D
 
I played mine last weekend at a gig, it has been killing! I could hear myself quite a bit more in my band's mix than when I was playing my Ecstasy. In fact, I'm using one 412 and the other guitar player has a 412 and a 212 satellite for his delays and whatnot... I was still cutting more than he was. I'm super-duper-pooper-scooper happy about the way this amp sits and cuts in the mix. :thumbsup:
