So, who wants to mod it for me? Ceriatone/Marshall content

So I just pulled the trigger on this Ceriatone JCM52 All access head which is simply Nik's take on the ultimate 2 channel JCM 800 2204.

This is the first one that I have seen available in the USA & I had to jump on it as I didn't want to wait 24 months (Or however long the wait times are now) to get it.

I think my purpose in buying the amp is to have it modded to get a combination of AFD #34/36/39 tones and The Hetfield/Kill Em' All Jose' modded Marshall sounds in 1 amp. (If that is even doable)?

I previously had Jeremy/RedPlated with Ground Zero Ampworks mod a JMP into his 3 stage MOAB circuit into a mini head and it sounded like this:

Jeremy was an absolute pleasure to work with and the amp was incredible.
Unfortunately I had to let that one go as It was $$$ and I really couldn't afford it at the time, and mostly what I've really wanted was a channel switcher that will do these tones but be able to switch between high & low gain that sound like extensions of each other rather that 2 distinct/seperate tones.
Not sure who ultimately ended up with the head but I believe it was another forum member.

One of the main reasons I sold all the others is I want a small box head (20") but with 2 channels (or 2 footswitchable gains) and the JCM52 chassis will fit into a mini Mojotone headshell just like I did with the mini MOAB.

I hate having full sized heads anymore & want something that will go on top of a 1x12 so I can use my main amp as my practice amp as well.
The problem with lunchbox heads is they sound like toys in comparison to big amps and I want big amp sound in a small package.

I think with this Ceriatone I want a more open/airy raw tone without any extra features beyond what the amp has already, just a little more gain and focus in the bottom end rather than lots of saturated gain & compression (If that makes sense).
I'd like to be able to get the tones with an overdrive, but the amp does't have to have super-mega saturated gain by itself.
I also want lots of presence & brightness. (I HATE dark sounding amps).

Like This stock JMP but with a little tighter bass & more chimey highs is what I mean:

I also had a Hopkins Pandora Marshall 1987 that was killer & David was also a pleasure to deal with, but again the amp was a single channel so It got sold as well.

I also had a Hermansson Modded SL-X that was pretty sweet:

I thought I would chime in and see what you guys think about who might be the best current USA based Marshall Modder to get me there?

After seeing the schematic, what thoughts on this head as a mod platform?

Thanks!

I think Ceriatones wait time is a couple weeks now. Like 4-6. For what you are looking for any modded should be able to dial it in.

I think you’re going to struggle to get true channel switching and tonal changes in a small head the classical amp mod style. A lot of high end detail asks for instability since shunt stability caps can’t be used. Noise due to coupling is a huge concern in confined spaces since you sometimes need physical spacing to keep things stable. It’s not impossible since you don’t want a lot of features but it would need to be done by someone with a knowledge of proper mod techniques. Just because it’s a small amp doesn’t make it easier - if anything the opposite.

Splawn NITRO SS Amplifier 50 Watt?

PS I still own that 50 Watt JMP but it's in a full size headshell now.

I think you'd struggle to stuff the channel switching parts (low power supply; relays, etc) and an additional channel into a hand-wired small box.

The cool thing about this head is it is already a 2 channel 2204.
It already has 2 foot switchable gain modes. Installed from the factory.
