***Price Drop to $4000***

Listing up my '81 Gibson Les Paul Custom for sale.

It's an incredible player and tone monster that's in quite good shape for the age.

It does have bumps, marks, and play wear. But the only marks through the finish are on the tip of the headstock.

It is stock and all original. Even has the original frets and nibs. The Tim Shaw humbuckers sound incredible and it still has the ground tray/bucket in the cavity. I took off the pick guard, but it will be included. It has had one tuner replaced with a correct one, but the original comes with it as well. It also comes with a Gibson black chipboard/Lifton style case. I'm not sure it's original to the guitar, but cool none the less. It currently has a set of Schaller strap locks on it, but I will reinstall the original strap buttons as well.

I spent some time and money on this one cleaning it up and making it play great as it is. It's distinctly different in feel from the modern Les Pauls, as the low frets feel much different in the left hand. It's definitely a grease bucket/arena rock/thick and heavy tone monster. Also worthy of noting, she's a heavy girl at over 10lbs. I don't have an exact weight, but can get one if necessary.

I'm selling it as I just spent a chunk on a Custom Shop Telecaster and this is the least played of my guitars.

Price dropped to $4000 from $4500 and I am not taking trades. I'd love to sell it locally (I'm just outside of Orlando and the wife and I don't mind road tripping). But shipping is available and I've pro-packed many instruments with positive results. Maple neck helps ease the concerns of Les Paul shipping! Be sure to look at the additional posts/images below the original post as I've included pictures of the electronics/cavities, frets, and more!

I'm happy to livestream and play it for you, have tons of recordings, take additional photos etc etc. Just drop me a line!

Damn that is beautiful. I just love vintage patina on old guitars.

Sweet guit

Thanks Moon!

She's a good looker for sure. Yellowed nicely without looking cloudy and very minimal, if any checking. She's got some bumps and bruises, but no signs of major abuse and no structural damage or repairs. If it weren't for the fact I've got to put money back in the kitty from a different purchase, I'd keep it! Thanks for the GLWS glpg80.

Bump with a video. Apologies for the video quality, my webcam is junk. But the sound quality isn't!

Here's a run through of the pickup positions and a bit of Friedman BE tones via the AxeFX III.

Bump with detailed photos after a deep clean. Went ahead and snagged some photos of the pickups and electronics for those who might be curious.

Aside from a replaced tuner that's correct, she's ALL original. I have the original pickguard and screws for it as well. Just prefer the non-pickguard look.

Absolutely. I will miss this one, but I'm just not giving it the time of day to justify the money being tied up in it. I'm not rich enough to keep them all and sometimes catch and release is in order.

Bump!

Made some changes to the shipping notation. It'll take some interesting packing, but I'm willing to do so to simplify shipping the guitar with it's original case.

Sounds pretty bitchin to me.
