I ordered this as a custom build since Nik isn’t making these and most likely will not be for a very long time, if ever, based on our conversations. It took a lot longer to get than we had anticipated going in, and honestly I just don’t need it anymore now that it’s here. My needs have changed quite a bit now that I’m pretty much not playing out anymore, and I find I just gravitate towards lower gain Plexi tones for at home playing.
This amp is a monster. If you’re looking at this ad, you know what it is. It does just about anything you could want, but it definitely excels in the higher gain modded-M type tones. Also, it's completely hand wired with no PCB if that matters to you.
There are a few slight feature departures from its “inspiration” as you can see from the pictures. Most notably, no ½ power switch. There really was no reason to add it as it didn’t offer much. There is also an added “Texture” switch that is a 3-way switch (middle position off) that while subtle, allows you to dial in the mids just right depending on the other settings. Also, each gain pot on the gain channels is a push/pull with an added switchable bright cap to allow really dialing in both the voice of the channel and the gain/mids. I find it helps balance Gain 1 and Gain 2 depending on the other settings and how you use the two channels together. Sort of compensates for a shared EQ. The rest of the knobs/switches should be self-explanatory and aside from the above, it’s what you’d expect.
This amp is basically brand new, with maybe at most a couple hours of play time in my home. It also will come with the two button footswitch.
Looking to get $2000 shipped/ppl’d (OBO). Not looking for any trades right now except maybe a Whitfill Blackgaurd with a slimmer neck or possibly a Metropoulos 12000 w/MV. PM me with any questions. Thanks for looking.
