Duncan Black Winter F-spaced 6 string set. These are in great shape and have plenty of lead. I did modify them both by drilling out the threads to accommodate direct mount. If you need to mount in a guitar with pup rings, you could easily tack a nut on the back of the pup ears with solder or JB weld/epoxy.

Are these brighter/tighter than Distortions? I need to replace the JB/'59 in my DK2. Too warm/muffled. But, I probably need F-spaced for the bridge.
I was looking at Distortions, or just change the bridge to a Custom/TB-5.

I was just checking these out on SD‘s site. According to their specs the Distortions are brighter with less mids.

Honestly to my ears these are not much different in eq than the DD at all. Little different feel in the saturation...BW being a bit more saturated but clearer at the same time.

Yo MM! Are these very bright? I’ve got a buddy with a super, super dark guitar that’s loaded with EMG 81’s. He wants to brighten it up, and I suggested these. And if it needs to be brighter yet, a 1 meg pot. It’s a really dark guitar.

I've got 2 sets, one in a PRS and one in a Caparison. Sounds amazing in both. The PRS is mahogany with a mahogany neck. The Caparison is 3 parts mahogany/maple/mahogany and always sounded kind of rounded off, not that it was bad, but the BW gave it just the right amount of bite.

Yes, these help darker guitars.

The Black Winters remind me of a tweaked Distortion/Invader mix where they are like low/hi passed to be clearer and tighter.

By the way, I think the ones for sale in this thread are "F-Spaced", because the bridge says "TB" which means a trembucker, which is the wider spacing. It also has the 3 holes on the ears, which is typical of trembucker spacing.

Thanks for the catch, totally forgot to mention the spacing. Listing updated.

Good deal here...I'd Grab them but don't have an axe to put them in at the moment...I have the Blackened Winters in two of my guitars. Dig them!
