Hello, have you anybody experience with this preamp?
I have VH4 and Diezel frontloaded Cabinet 4x12 with V30..
And I am thinking about trying this preamp to run it in the serial loop... to add more sound possibilities of my gear.. expecially differnet cleans and crunch..
Maybe thinking to change VH4 to Herbert.. that have more heavy sound and run Soldano in Herbert too..for different preamp section... more vintage maybe..or that Soldano sound.. but I am little bit worried, if this Soldano have bit similar or is too close to the sound of Diezels preamp section..so I am worried..to have than two not such different amps at home. One is on Ebay here in Europe right now..so I am thinking abou trying to buy it and try out..
Preamp is midi and motorized pots..

Yes I have one. It sounds better than any other power amp through my Herbert loop. The sound is differnt to the Herbert preamp, more 90's no so 3d but they are great. They are best at medium gain sounds and get a little buzzy if you try to get too heavy. They are a classic pre and worth buying. Here's a track I used the X99 on with a Soldano SM100 power amp. All guitars are X99 except the solos' which are Bogner 100b, (pardon the drums) It gets fatter through the Herbert loop, but this was recorded before I owned the Herbert. https://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_so ... ID=6930682 or try myspace "BE There" if this link doesn't work.

I have one and run it through a VHT classic power amp and it sounds great. Not really saturated but very articulate gain sounds. The midi pots are cool and fun to watch spin. That said my SLO100 has more gain the X99.

I think it would marry up well with the Herbert power amp section.

Wow man..Caswel and T.C. 2290.. I missed buying 2290 on Ebay.. I think, I made mistake.. I should sell my Line 6 Echo Pro and Line 6 Mod Pro and buy T.C. 2290...

don´t you have Ecstacy 101B too I had one at my place..I bought it for my friend so I know how it sounds..is Caswell bit closer to Ecstacy than Diezel in its sound?
Am I right, when I think, that with the Caswell in VH4 or Herbert power section..I´ll have more vintage and Classic sounds and VH4 to use for very modern?

Yes the X99 is much closed to the Blue Channel on the XTC 101B. With either diezel you would cover lots of ground between old school and new school. By the way how is the music scene and in the Czech republic?

Oh, thanks..that is what I wanted to hear... I have VH4 and maybe switch to Herbert..to have modern sound (with one of them) ..and then Caswel..for other more vintage stuff..and that live +++ .. with motorized pots :-D.... I hope..I´ll can take from it the sound of the SLO100 too..I read somewhere..that this preamp is based on its preampsection..

Czech Scene.. Yeah.. so.. I don´t know exactly.. I think..it is the global problem nowdays..just lok on MTV :D .. there are some good bands here but.. they are from the ´80 and ´90 .. really good.. not modern. .. by the way..one of their guitarist uses X99 with Soldano Powermap :) ..
And then are here really heavy modern bands..numetal and so..and than new alternative psychadelic bands..I think..this is the kind of music, that people do today at the most.. Numetal and alternative.. but I think..it is based on the one thing..people don´t like to practice with the instrument much..so they are trying to find something new and cool and different, instead to try really hard to practice..and than do much better music.. but only my opinion

Right now, if I mean bands, that can be seen in TV or so..here are two bands, that are more famous..play Numetal and kind of it..but, especially in one of them..I hear a lot of Korn in it..and that is bad I think, the rest is Pop at the most.. and than the old musicians from ´70 - ´90 .. like Wanastovy Wjecy, Lucie, Michal Pavlicek..but they don´t play a lot now..only sometimes the live performance in clubs..or only bar of the members of the current band..

I've spoken to Peter about it a few times at the shop. But it's been a while and anything mentioned has probably changed a few times. There was no name for the pre then, so not sure if that was what the Hagen will be. There was an issue just getting motorized pots if I remember. My hope is for a 180 watt stereo rackmount power amp coming along at the same time. Would bring the rack revolution I grew up with in the late '80s to its highest standard and possibly be the greatest pre ever made.
