[Jaw drops]... awesome. Eh, but Diamond amps are expensive and Soldano amps are expensive, so expensive + expensive = double expensive! I want, but price tag may kill all hopes and dreams.

"Powered by 4 x 5881’s and 6 x 12AX7’s..."

There's gonna be some gain on this thing

I read somewhere they're going to run about $3299. Unsure if that's MSRP or not.

Speculating, but perhaps this is why Mikey left Jet City. Maybe it was so he could team up with Jeff Diamant for this project. I'm very curious to hear this amp put through the paces.

Wonder what kind of iron is in it and if the loop is +4db like the Soldano SLO/HR100+ amps are .
Not to mention your stuck with those damn 5881 tubes , for some reason Mike hates EL34's.

An SLO with a slightly more moden Voicing and an effects loop that acually is usable?

Some of you guys really needs to step out of the 80's once in a while.............

First thing that came to my mind actually. I have high hopes for it. I really doubt it will be an underwhelming amp. I can't think of one amp that has Soldano's name on it that didn't live up to his reputation (or Diamond for that matter).

Anxious for the first few YouTube clips . . .

Two high end amp companies wittingly collaborating on an amp design ? You don't see that too often.

I had heard that it was supposed to be a Slo preamp section with a Diamond Power section. Thought that they'd be around 5,000+ myself.

I gotta say that I really dont see this being a bad thing. Most of the Diamond amp clips that I've heard have actually been pretty good sounding. Certainly cant be anything bad sounding. I'm guessing something like a Nitrox with a little more saturation and a slight bump in the midrange.

I played a few Diamond's at my local GC's loud room. Out of the entire room of Diezel's, ENGL's, EVH, and Diamond's.... I liked the Diamond's the best.

Here' the tagline:
Mike Soldano's so tight, if you put an amp up his ass, in two weeks you get a Diamond.

I have no doubt that this will be an incredible amp. 100w is a lot of power, so I definitely want to see more of this collaboration in the future. Mike Soldano is like the EVH of amp building, so he has his reasons for doing what he does. Soldanos are those kinds of amps that even if you're not blown away with the sound, you are always impressed listening to others play them or regret selling yours when you dig up old recordings of one.

"3881's"!!! And this guy OWNS an amp company!?  He must be a trust fund baby with no sense because nobody wants this crap. Diamond belongs in the same garbage bin as Krank amps... :scared:

LOL I heard that too. He was just talking about EL34's so I think I had the number 3 on the brain. Isn't he the designer of Diamond amps though? Im sure he's more than just the guy that runs things. I wonder if there were any major changes to the circuit other than the poweramp. I know the Diamond amps are put together similar to how Splawn does it, in that the boards are the same, its just what components they put into it is what makes the different amps. I wonder if it's just different components or if they made entirely new boards for this. It's possible that they did since they are only doing a limited number of these. Which also seems like a strange idea to do if you're going to go through all the R&D and have Soldanos name on it to boot. I think it sounds good either way.
