So I got to thinking just now about my Soldano SLO Mini Solid State Head & how it would sound through the FX Return of my Marshall Artist 3203 Head into the matching 1965A 4x10 cab?

Do any Soldano SLO Mini Solid State Head owners try it through a tube power amp or the FX Return on your tube amps? Just curious.

I bet that would sound killer!

I'll have to try it 👍 I also have a Bugera PS1 Power Soak too, wondering if I should hook that up to the Marshall Artist Head too?

This most certainly has my attention. Come on, fellas! Gimme a reason to buy those little toy amps!

ive tried all my SS amps into tubes cause it sounds like a great idea, but it never actually works out too great, i would still try though

Was going to say this. If you want to polish turds, give it a go; but it’s not going to sound like a good amp.

yeah its weird, i love a lot of pedals into a tube amp, but heads for some reason just seem to get fuzzy and mushy in my experiences.

Definitely give it a shot. I’ve got a Non-MV 50 watt JMP from 1973 and she takes AIB pedals like a Boss. The Suhr Eclipse in front of this head is intoxicating. I tried sending the line out from my XTC Mini head into the 73, and it just didn’t work as well in the room as it ‘should’ have. The Mini head actually sounded better just driving the 4x12 on its own as opposed to running it through the Marshall.
