I was messing around for a bit and decided to record some side by sides of the COD and EG5. Path is Godin Flat5X bridge-M4-Gmajor2-TBR5-Sunn 4x10 (miking one of the Ragin Cajuns, thought I was miking the Ramrod  ). Intro is channel B with some delay and verb, Rhythms are A dry. EG5B is nearly hard left CODB is right, EG5A is left CODA is right. Parts were rushed as I wanted to catch some pre season foozball. Enjoy!

I understand the EG5 to be Egnater's high gain monster so you must have the gain dialed back quite a bit. Curious what your gain settings were on both modules. By the way, I liked the COD1 clip a lot. When the E2 becomes available, I'm thinking I will get the T/D and EG5 followed by a COD...dependent on budget constraints and (cough) wife constraints...

Wife: "You want to spend how much? For what??" :gethim:

Great tones, them 2 modules really sound great together but what a tease

EG5 gain settings were noon. I play hollowbodies and believe me they howl like a banshee if the gain is set any higher than that. COD gain was 12:30 for A and 2:30 for B.

  Admittedly. I'll get some finished product up here once I get in a real studio with some real mikes and a real band. No post production nor did I really work on mic placement. I simply grabbed a 58, jammed it into the center of the cone, and hit record on my trusty D1200mkII. I really just wanted to capture the combined tone for reference.

Thanks for not being tuff on me guys. The takes were stilted and not recorded under the best conditions. I was completely uncomfortable when I was tracking and it shows. I was missing the first half of the games!

Fret not. I've got the EG5 and Usually have the gain at 2pm with a Suhr Modern, Randall RT2/50 and Bogner OS 2x12 V30s and it's Dream Theater territory.

Perfect! Exactly what I need it for. The outro for "Innocence Faded" is my standard for comparison and if the EG5 will get me in the ballpark then I'm set.

That outro isn't all that heavy a sound as it is a nicely record CD. And the Eg5 will do that easily. Think of EG5 as the module that does the Master of Puppets chunk sound.

That sounds good. It amazes me how different we can all make these modules sound.
That has the beginnings of a memorable song. Catchy riff.

Thanks Scott. 20 seconds is a total teaser. I'll give you guys the full version in a few months once I've secured a rhythm section and some studio time.
