Some history on the DLX module?

When I go to the Egnater website, all I see is the T/D module (twin/deluxe). There is no history or description of the DLX module. Strangely, googling or going through this site yields little info. Did the T/D replace the DLX? Is it set up with the samd/equal deluxe voicing on both sides and you can tweak/push each side to suit, or is side B cranked up a bit to start? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I have owned both the T/D and the DLX. The DLX is basically an A and B channel of the D side of the T/D. If you like the DLX sound having 2 of them is even better :). The T(win) side of the T/D has a VERY high headroom. You pretty much can't get it to break up w/o a tube screamer or something. It has a very similar sound to the the real Fender Twin. I've owned one, and w/ that module I wouldn't need to have a Twin anymore! The Deluxe side of the T/D is really similar to a Fender Deluxe amp. Its more naturally compressed, and can be driven to breakup. It's can have an awesome overdriven sound when the gain is cranked, sound country, but also have a similar sparkle to what the T(win) does. I use the DLX in favor of the T/D as I like the natural compression of the DLX on both sides better. I use Channel A w/ the gain at about 11-12 o'clock, and it gets me a sparkly clean tone ala of the T(win) but with a hint of grit and slight overdrive around it. It's my favorite clean tone!!! On Channel B, I run the gain at around 3 o'clock, and use it for a spanky overdriven sound. It can get similar to Ty Tabor's clean tone, do country, etc. For my particular situation, it gave me exactly what I was looking for in a Clean module. The T/D I really did like though too, but I found myself using the D more than the T as I liked the natural compression and grittiness.

I think the reason they are pushing the T/D is because it has more versatility in sounds than the DLX. I would imagine modding a T/D to be a DLX would be rather painless. I would imagine if you wanted a DLX, they'd be happy to sell you one :).
