Hey guys,

I recently got the mixes back for a couple of my original tunes that I recorded at a local studio during the last couple of years when I was about 14-15, and I figured they'd be cool to listen to for a laugh since the tones are pretty decent... I played all guitars and bass and wrote the tunes... the drums are live and done by the studio engineer.

This one is called "Aftershock" and is the newer of the two (written and recorded in spring/summer 2010 when I was 15.) The rig is as follows:

Rhythms - Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus and Gibson Les Paul Jr Satin into a modded '68 Traynor Bassmaster, channels jumped. The cabinet was a 2x12 loaded with greenbacks. As a boost in front of the Traynor, I used my Zoom HL-01 analog "Power Drive" distortion pedal. The lead track was a USA Peavey Wolfgang Standard Deluxe into a Peavey Vypyr tube 60 1x12 on a custom lead preset of my own design.

This one is called "Matchbox Grove" and is slightly older (I think I was about 13 when I wrote and started cutting this one... it didn't get finished until spring/summer 2009 when I was 14 or so.) The rig, due to the amount of time spanned between recording the tune, is a lot more haphazard but I'll try and lay it out anyway:

Rhythms - Yamaha SBG200 and a USACG Strat with Kinnmans into a Peavey Ultra Plus and a Mesa Boogie Mark III green stripe. No pedals were used, and the cabinet was a greenback loaded 2x12. The lead tracks were a Parker Fly Deluxe int the Mark III and GB loaded 2x12 (third solo) and an EBMM JP6 going into a 'pre gear' Splawn Quick Rod with the same cabinet (first and second solos) (both going into the GB loaded 2x12).

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy! :)

Nice tunes man! I get kind of a Racer X vibe from that first song and the second seems kind of Vinnie Moore-like. While the tones on each are nice, I think your playing completely overshadows the amps. You could play through a Gorilla with a torn speaker and I would still dig it.

Thanks man! Yes, I am 16. I started when I was 3 years old though. My father noticed the interest I had in his guitar, but being that it was a full sized dreadnought, I needed something smaller. The rest is history I suppose...
