From left to right:

Tribooster, Chorus, vintage fuzz, empty shell waiting for a phaser. All were BYOC kits, amazing values for the $. I did all the crazy paint jobs on my back patio with my wife thinking I had sniffed too many solder fumes. :)

Fantastic!! Nice work

How does that Fuzz sound? is it close to a certain fuzz pedal in particular or its own thing?

The fuzz is a vintage clone of a fuzz face with carbon comp resistors, NOS AC175 transistors, film cap, etc... to be honest, it's almost TOO vintage for my taste. I may sell it, but it also really sounds awesome with the triboost pushing it.

Cool Pete! Im thinking about getting a real aggressive sounding fuzz soon... been lookin at the Roger Mayer Mongoose. Heard it can get a real angry sound

If you have a fuzz pedal already, hit it with a boost - it's night and day. I'm thinking about buying a bigger enclosure and putting the boost in there with the fuzz!

Or run it INTO a dirt box! Also cool...

Those look great. I've been eyeing the fuzz face kit - I think you might have pushed me over the edge...

How's the chorus?

How's the chorus?

I did the 'esv' fuzz - it has all the vintage corksniffer parts. Was super easy, but I did add a knob - the kit has a trimpot on the board for adjusting the bias. I went ahead and put it on the outside so I can tweeze it when necessary.

Chorus is awesome. I modded mine a bit - put a three way switch so I can control how far the pitch goes - I can get those real smooth rockman tones or stuff that would make a robot seasick. I also went to radio shack and grabbed a blue LED for it, since the enclosure is blue too.

The Triboost is probably my favorite of the three so far. Three different killer boosts built into one phase90 sized pedal. If Fulltone made one of these, it would probably cost over $200. has a clean boost, a mosfet boost and a germanium treble booster with mid boost or full range boost switches. LED even changes color to tell you which boost you're running.

The PCB's are the best part of the kits - higher quality than most production pedals, and the best DIY ones out there. These aren't PCBs that are made in someone's sink, that's for sure. Worst part is the wire - he includes solid core, which means if you have to move the board to check wiring or correct a goof, the stuff can break easily. Get some stranded wire and use it instead, you'll thank me later.

When boosting the fuzz, do you use the treble boost mode or one of the other modes on the tribooster?

I have the tribooster, I like it as a clean boost function for a solo boost, so far I haven't found much use for the treble booster section.

I am thinking of picking up a Fuzz, I am debating between the HBE fuzz and the BYOC vintage fuzz....

I have a BYOC tremelo on the way....

Treble boost mode would be good for a really dark amp. I have been using that part (germanium boost) with the switch set to full range. I also used it with the treadplate module on a Randall RM20 and it breathed fire!

I'd say build your own fuzz, then you can tweak it how you want it. I'm just not sure I'm a fuzz guy, unless it's getting smacked around with a boost pedal.

How easy are these to put together for someone with "limited" soldering skills? I've done guitar wiring (pickups, pots, etc) and changed a switch on my wah...

Those look great! All my BYOC pedals are still sitting in the metal gray box  .
