I was playing for a couple of hours today, and when I turned off the amp, the whole rig just said "bang". I tried to turn the amp on to see if I still got sound. But I didn't. I checked the fuse box to see if there were any broken fuses, but there wasn't.

Does anybody know what happened to my amp?

Look to see if a preamp tube exploded. I have had this happen a few times with Ruby's.
The glass shattered on cool down.

There is anywas time to change the tubes. They have been in there for almost two years, and I think I want to try som other tubes. What do you guys reccomend?

Remove the tube shields and look at the tubes. The V1 is behind the output transformer.
If one had broken glass, you will need to pull the chassis and remove the tube with pliers
or a glove and shake the glass out of the chassis. If none of the tubes are broken, try replacing
the V1 first. If the amp does not give you a signal, try a new V3.

Herbert:
V1 Used by all channels
V2 Used by channel 3
V3 Used by all channels
V4 Mixer & Loop Driver
V5 Return Driver
V6 Phase Inverter

while you are on the topic...

when facing the back of the amp,

is V1 on the right or the left?

The far right.

I see. Which tubes should I use?

Any 12AX7 will do for now, but In the Herbert I prefer a JJ ECC83 or Ruby 12AX7C5 High Grade + in the V1.

Or a full complement of TAD 7025S

Seriously!! Well, anything is possible given the right number of variables. I have found them to be total quality tubes, but again, since I've run the course of going with expensive glass, I'm back to top-grade Chinese 12AX7B or C. They're great!!

Peace,
V.

The glass issue was solved a while back at Ruby. They are a great sounding tube. For a short while Mesa was selling the 7025SS in an SPAX7
and I got a bunch of them. No issues at all in the V1 of the VH4.
