Soon to be Mod 50 owner, tone question

I just ordered a Mod50 with the VX and SL2 modules because I basically wanted an AC30 and JCM800 in one amp. Anyway, I would like to get 1 more module at some point in time and my question is what module, if any, could get me closest to the tone of the Deizel VH4 channel 3. I am looking for newer/live Muse tone. It is pretty dark, farily smooth, etc....I think most people here know what I'm talking about. Here's a good example though:

Skip to about 2:30 and you can hear the guitar come in really well.

I don't have a soundcard here at work, but dark, smooth, Diezel ch3, My first thoughts are:

EG 3/4
or
MHG

I agree with Gene. From what I heard I'd recommend either of those or the EG5. I think the MHG and EG5 are the ones you will want. Remember that the EQ on the Eggie modules are really good and versatile! Turn them "with your ears" not "your eyes!" The typical "bass at 3 oclock, mids at 10 oclock, treble at 3 oclock" settings you do on a marshall won't necessarily get you what you want with Eggie modules.

So heres the deal with Matt Bellamy... He has many pedal including zvex fuzz factory and phase 90 built into and switchable right in his guitars . I really dont think you are hearing the Diezel in that clip. Why dont you get a fuzz factory and run it through your Vx?

I dont think there is any module that sounds like that to be honest. Im willing to bet thats the fuzz factory circuit.

LOVE Muse though. Cant wait for a new record. I really wish that HAARP had come on Blu-ray. Its such a waste on DVD. I need that in 1080p and DolbyTrue HD audio!

I appareciate the info on muse and it coming from a fellow fan, but I am more than aware of all the gear he has and what songs he uses it on. He really only uses the FF on Plug in baby and Supermassive black hole these days...I think on the intro to New born as well actually. I actually made myself a guitar with the control pad for the Korg kaoss pad built in just as a fun project.

I'm 100% positive this is the VH4 in this clip...Here's one more example of what tone I'm going for oddly enough covering a deftones riff.

I stand corrected!

Anyway, that clip sounds alot different to me. I think EG5 will get you in the ballpark though.

The guitars in those clips have pretty different pickups I believe...that may account for much of the difference. Anyway, thanks for the info!!

I'd say something like an eg3/4, maybe with something pushing it to get that slight fuzz sound around it. I think the eg5 is a bit too tight/upper midrange for that, but that's just me and that module seems to be a great hit for most other people.

I was playing along with super massive black hole using my erect module and when I split the pups in my McCarty and put it in the neck position I was actually getting a similar sound. Using the neck pick up to get more of that "wooliness" too it..
It didn't sound just like it when it was by itself, but when playing along I realized how well it matched.

I dont know I really dont hear EG3/4 in that clip. EG3/4 is real smooth and real dark. I still think EG5 is the best with treble set low and bass boost on 2.

He also uses Bareknuckle nailbombs if that'll help you in your pursuit of tone

i actually have 1 guitar equipped with a nailbomb in the bridge. They're are incredible for medium to high gain. Sound like shit clean. It also has one of Bareknuckles P90's in the neck.

Bareknuckles are incredible pickups.
