Could someone put these in order of quality for me and prices? I know some are opinion related but I've heard so much talk of these I'm really getting confused which ones are $99999 and which ones are cheaper and the rest of it and think this'd be quicker then working it out myself;

Xpression
G-Major
G-Sharp
G-force
M-2000
M-3000
Intellifex

I'd really appreciate it if someone could do this for me :) thanks

I think that the M2000 and M3000 only allow 2 fx at a time but they should be really good. No idea about prices in the US so I'll give the order of quality (imho)

GForce
M3000
M2000
Xpression
Intellifex
GMajor
G-Sharp

You can also look for a TC Fireworx, it's basically like a GForce with extras and more parameter control BUT they go cheaper 2nd hand as they are more a studiotool. Lex MPX1 also sounds great but is harder to setup AND if you run it in a serial loop, you're going to have a prob as there's a serious lag between preset changes.

thank you very much, that's helped me alot : ) and by 2 effects at a time meaning say flanger and reverb as one preset, but nothing else?

but you can save as many presets as your midi pedal can handle correct?

I agree with Yoeri in terms of his quality. I'd maybe put the Intellifex's quality of effects above the Xpressions, but that's it. As far as the prices, it goes like this, from most expensive to cheapest:

G-Force
M3000
M2000
G-Major
Xpression
G-Sharp
Intellifex (gotta buy this one used but you can get them for like $150)

I can't comment on the Fireworx, but the MPX-1 is great. However, that lag would be a real issue unless you're running it with a parallel loop.

What kind of multi-effects are you looking for? If I knew that, I could help you out some more. What are the most important features you want?

Code001 thanks again, you've help me lots on rig talk :) cheers

and I will be using a Diezel Herbert, the only pedals I'll be using are a Boss Wah and a Digitech Whammy (so pitch and wah effects in which ever rack unit I decide to buy don't matter).

I'm after everything on this really other then the above, Flanger, Phaser, Reverb, Delay, Tremolo Chorus, Compressor and Noise gate.

thanks

Do yourself a favor and don't add a noisegate to your requirements. Instead, buy an ISP Decimator. You don't need to buy the rack version (in fact, I don't recommend it because it can cause ground loops very easily and it'll be a huge PITA if you wanna use multiple heads). For Flanger, Phaser and Compressor, I really recommend buying pedals for that stuff. I feel they should be in front of the amp and not in the loop. For the best Phaser, try looking into the Build Your Own Clone pedals. They take the original pedals like the original Phase 90 that EVH made popular, original TS-808, original RAT, etc. etc. and make an exact copy of it. Basically, you're getting that $200+ effect for less than half the price if you can solder. If you can't, they have someone that'll build them for you as well. He doesn't have a Flanger out right now, but it's on his to-do list.

If you need something right away and don't want any pedals out front, get the Xpression/Replifex/Multi-Valve. They'll have something close enough to be useable AND have all the effects you listed. The Intellifex can do everything else you're looking for now except for Tremolo. If you can get it, I'd try to spring for the G-Force as it's one of the best multi-effects units out there. You can buy them for under $1k used. If you're looking for a lower budget, get the Rocktron stuff. Xpressions/Replifexes/Multi-Valves go for like $200-$250 or so on Ebay. I don't recommend the G-Major as a low-budget effects unit as there are reports of serious reliability issues. Also, I think the G-Sharp doesn't allow enough versatility. I can't comment on the M2000 and M3000 units.

the G force is a little out of my price range, saw one go the other day on ebay for 600 pounds I think which I guess was quite a bargain for that piece of gear.

I'm not sure I need a noisegate, I just think it'd add to my rig and may come in useful. I'm looking at a second hand M2000 at the moment so I'd be interested if anyone has anything to say about that??

Thanks again :) If the M2000 doesn't seem right for me I think I'll go with an Xpression.

Sam,

if you don't mind paying the shipping, check German ebay for TC Electronic stuff, you should be able to find the units at great prices there. I even think Beyers Music is selling the GForce for 975euros new, they are going to be discontinued very soon. I own mine for about a year now and it's going nowhere, there's not one FX unit, not even an Eventide Eclipse, that I would trade it for.

M2000 will indeed do flanger and reverb as 1 preset but nothing more. Check the manuals for more info on what is possible!

I just managed to find the manual acctually : ) so only 2 presets at a time on the M2000?

ebay Germany only have one G-force up at the moment that I've found and it appears only to be shipping to Germany, ebay.co.uk has none that I can find so I'll check ebay.com

How do you know it's going to be disocntinued?

*edit*

Just found a G-Force for 800 pounds :o Think I may go for it
