What would be the best way to connect two 4x12 cabs? I have a diezel front loaded 4X12 and a boogie rectifier 4X12. The amp is a VH4 non-stereo.

Thanks,
Jason

The back of VH4 spells it out;I guess I forgot about that. I decided to run out of the head from the 2 8ohm jacks. Instead of piggy backing from cab to cab.

Let me make sure I Understand this properly. When "piggy backing" from cab to cab it is called a parallel connection. If one is connecting two 8-ohm cabs parallel then it would then be a 16-ohm load. Where as if one is running direct from the amp into two different cabs it's called a serial connection. With a serial connection and each cab at 8-ohms then one would have a 4-OHM load. This is correct?

I'm using a rectifier 4X12 boogie along with my Diezel 4x12 that’s loaded with G12k100's. I really this combination of speakers/cabs. This combo let's me set my EQ really bassy. I set the res and bass really high. It gives me a really punchy Petrucci rhythm sound. With the G12k100's contrasting the v30's in the boogie it gives my leads a really nice clean non-abrasive tone. Has anyone else tried this or something similar?

No ! In Paralleling two 8 ohm cabs, regardless if you're piggybacking or going straight from the amp, you must set the amp to 4 ohms. Or plug each cab into each 4 ohm outs on the amp.

To actually series two 8 ohm cabs together, creating a 16 ohm load, would require special re-wiring of the cabs. I'm not aware of anyone doing this. Just run at 4 ohms and you'll be happy.

BTW do you find the GK100s to have significantly less mids than the V30s ? I've tried them, but not A/B'd directly.

OH I SEE.....Thank You. :) Thankfully Diezel tell you how to setup ur cabs on the back of the head. You do lose some mids with the GK100's. However, it's not bad at all. The V30's have more mid's and are harsh when compared to the GK100's. Now that I use both I couldn't imagine going back to only V30's.
