Speaker outputs on Einstein combo

So.. I just recently purchased a Diezel Einstein 50W combo, and I love it!

I just have a couple of questions regarding all the different speaker outputs on the back.
Yesterday I noticed the speaker (V30) says 16ohms on it, but is plugged into the 8ohm speaker output on the back... Is that something I should worry about...?

Also, if I use the compensated out for recording, do I need to have a speaker connected to a speaker out simultaneously?
I'm kind of new to all this stuff.. Better safe than sorry! :D

Hey, welcome to the forum and to Diezel amps to another new dude!

I'm not sure about the impedance thing, but yes, you need a speaker or dummy load attached if using the compensated out. Use the master and channel volumes to set the volume of the comp out as you would with a speaker cab.

I have the Einstein head and its just awesome.

as long as the ohm number of a speaker is higher or equal to the ohm number on the speaker output, you're safe.

i have two 8 ohm speaker cabinets, if i hook up a single one to my vh4, it goes in the 8 ohm speaker output. if i hook up both, they both go in the 4 ohm speaker outputs.

one of my cabinets is a 2x12, with two 16 ohm speakers wired in parallel. the ohm rating of that cabinet is:
(16 x 16) / (16 + 16) = 256 / 32 = 8 ohms.

It's safe going into the 8 ohm jack. But switch it over so speaker and amp match. The sound will change slightly as well. 16 ohm speaker and 16 ohm jack on amp will be a little louder and more full sounding.

More full sounding on 16 ohm jack you say?
Guess I'll be swapping the jack then!

Now, my Einstein is the fattest, most fullest sounding amp I have ever heard... And that was at 8 ohms...

Should take you all of two seconds to switch it over to the 16 ohm jack. Not sure why you haven't tried it already.

Not sure why I haven't tried it alteady? Like I said, I'm new to all of this stuff and wanted to make sure nothing bad would happen.
