I searched the word "speaker" in the Egnater Forum the other night and perused about 1/2 of
the 30 pages of results.

I am looking for a slightly more aggressive speaker to put in one of my OS Avatar 1x12s that currently has a Classic 80. I
have another loaded with a Classic 80, as well, and just want another flavor for the other 1x12.

It looks like WGS Veteran 30 might be good here. I also wanted to look into the Scumback M75 as it would have the Greenback
sound at higher wattage, but not sure if it would be ideal for a 1x12. Any other suggestions??

Also, FYI, here is the jist of what I uncovered from the old threads.
-Bruce tuned his 1x12 cabs for the MOD stuff to the Classic 80. Jeff Hilligan said it was one of the only speakers that didn't "fart out" and also recommended an EV;
-The 2x12 is tuned to Vintage 30s.

I've got the Mod 2x12 cab right, and it came with v30's and sounded great with those speaker in it. Right now, I've got an older V30 and a Classic lead 80 (not Egnater Elite 80) in it. FWIW, the V30's sound great with the higher gain modules. In my 4x12, I've got the V30's from my mod 2x12, and a pair of G12t75's, x'd, and I typically mic the v30's when only using a single '57.

Best results I've gotten is V30s and Scumback M75s in 4x12 and 1x12s. I like the way they sound mixed too in a 4x12. I've never been able to find a 2x12 that I like.
Didn't like the Celestion G12T75s, but I never did. I would really like to try the EV12Ls some time for a different flavor with less breakup.

So you've tried an M75 in a 1x12 with good results?

I've actually got a Scumnico in a 1x12 that sounds good, but I want a little more woody sound - might trade for one if I can find one...

Yep, I have an M75 in my Eggie 1x12 and I dig it. Sounds great at all volumes, but shines when it gets pushed a bit and the highs round off.
