Speaker Simulators for amps (not impulses/computer models)

Are there any "hardware" speaker simulator units that can directly used with guitar amps?

I really like using my attenuator as a load box, so I can send the converted line level signal to some effects, and then re-amp them with a stereo poweramp & speakers. But then I miss the sound of the amp pushing the speakers and getting that richness. It would be nice to (at least somewhat) replicate the speaker sound, and also have the option of changing different speaker sounds & maybe even different wattages, e.g. Eminence Swamp Thang; Celestion V30, Greenback; JBL; high wattage EV; Fanes, you name it any speaker you want.

I guess the only other way is to have a speaker in an iso cab with a microphone, then just send its line level output to the effects and amp & speakers?

Best I've tried and own is the Palmer The Junction (PDI-09). Can be used on the amp's speaker out or the line out (prefer the sound from speaker out).

Just converts your speaker signal into symm. line and corrects frequencies towards a mic'ed cab sound. All sound engineers I gave this signal to mix with the microphone in front of the amp ended up using mostly the Palmer signal only.

It's cheap as chips and sounds great IMO.

Thank you!

I've got the PDI-09 as well, and really dig it. I'm thinking about getting the PDI-03, which has the load on it as well, in addition to a couple more filtering options. Joe Bonamassa uses it live, or at least he used to.

I have a Palmer PDA-04 same as -03 with some extras. Run out of the amp into the -04 and out speaker into your Attenuator to cab then you can record the amp head before it is attenuated and hear it in the cab after it is. If you do not use the Speaker out on the -04 you can record silently. My recording set up for either amp.
