Hey guys I have an 80's Randall R 412 straight with the factory Jaguar speakers that used to have the grey carpeting all over but is in the process of being re-tolexed and wanted to know if anyone here has ever had one of these cabs and what speaker replacements you've gone with?

I've been researching Eminence speakers and most recentely found out about Warehouse guitar speakers. on the back jack plate it only has 1 input and then an output, first time I've ever seen that configuration for a jack plate on a guitar cab? Our band plays modern metal in Drop B but I also play other styles as well like 80's metal and hair metal too.

I'm pretty sure the cab is 8 ohms and I think it is a mono cab seeing as theres no marking on the jack plate saying anything about stereo? I was reading around on the wgs speakers and some people were saying that ET65's paired with Veteran 30's in either an X pattern or the ET65's on top of the Veteran 30's and then with eminence the swamp thang's with the governor's or the man-o-war's and governors are good for metal.

Can you get a pic of the cab? I have a Randall warhead cab, and it sounds awesome with V30's. Also, an out on a cab is pretty normal, the out is for connecting more than one cab together, but only using one out on the head so you could use 4 4x12's instead of 2.

What I'm thinking about experimenting with is taking all 4 of the original Jaguar speakers outta the Randall cab and taking 2 of the factory Celestion G12T75's outta my Marshall 1960A 4x12 and taking the 2 stock Celestion Vintage 30's outta my 1995 Mesa Tremoverb 2x12 combo that was converted by my brother-in-law to a closed back 2x12 cab and doing an x pattern of the celestions in the old Randall cab and then hopefully soon get the rest of the tolexing done on the back of the cab that he never got a chance to finish...

How do you guys think the Randall cab would sound going with the x pattern of those 2 different celestions? The cab is soo heavy I was thinking of just using it for practices here at my house and not shows and then just using my Marshall 1960A for shows and maybe replacing the 2 slots the factory gt1275's came out of with Eminence Swamp Thangs, how would that sound? It just seems to me too that my marshall 1960a has been really lacking in sound compared to when I bought it new and it could definitely use a lot more bottom end! What speakers would sound good in the mesa tremoverb combo 2x12 cab?

V30's hold together great until you start getting into the B and A tunings, then eminence tends to win over V30's in tightness and low end.

id recommend sticking with your original intentions of the eminence line.

I forgot to mention what amp(s) I'm running thru these cabs, ooppss! Right now I'm running the Bogner Uberschall Revision 2 but I also have the 95 Mesa Tremoverb that my brother-in-law converted from the combo to a head.

Any idea what Warehouse guitar speakers would sound good in the Randall cab and Marshall 1960A cab?
