Hey guys,

I've been using my EL34 Shiva with an Orange 4x12 loaded w/ V30's and G12H30 70th Anniv.'s in an X-pattern. I'm pretty happy with it...the mids cut through, and the bass is tight. Just wondered if you've tried any other speaker combinations with the Shiva. I'm looking into maybe swapping the G12H30's with some Scumbacks, or maybe trying all Scumbacks in the 4x12...but I'm thinking I might miss the V30's being paired with the Shiva. I play thick heavy rock...AIC, Soundgarden, Sabbath, Clutch, DOWN, High on Fire...inspired tones. Thanks for any ideas!

I have yet to find something that beats the V30s. Bogners are voiced on the darker side, so the upper mids of the V30's actually pairs well with them. The Eminence Governors sound great too.

Some older Marshalls are definitely glassier/brighter than the Bogners, and Scumbacks pair fantastically with those.

To my ears, the smooth top end of the Scumback M75, and the darker nature of the Bogner, was too much of a good thing.

I did NOT like the CL80 at all with it.

 V30s

I tried G12T75s and Elite 80s and went right back to my Bogner 4x12 with V30s

Anyone try the Uberkab 4x12 mix (V30's & G12T75's) with an EL34 Shiva?

I find my 20th Shiva to be very bright!!! Maybe it is my speakers? Bogner OS212 with WGS Vet30 and ET65.

Maybe elestion G12-65s as well?!

I think I really want to try some older G12-65s in my Bogner 212.

Rich, are you still running your Bogner 212 in open back mode?

It's going to be like comparing apples to oranges if you are. You gotta seal up the back, and then you can really compare what you're hearing, to everyone else's speaker descriptions.

Nick, mine is closed.

I have been using Mesa Boogie's V30 design because I was tipped off they sound better than stock V30s. They sound really good but not sure if I like em better than my trusty ET65/Vet30.
