Just got home from a really great concert: Disciple, Fireflight, and two other bands in Medford, Oregon! The guitarists in both Disciple and Fireflight were using Quickrods and the tone was HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY!!!

But I also liked how the amps cut through the mix. The two opening bands were using Mesa DRs and 5150s, and though they were heavy sounding too, they were also very muddy and didn't cut through the mix nearly as well as the Splawn QRs.

I've seen several bands now that use Splawn amps and must admit that I'm very impressed, even if I'm a diehard Marshall maniac! It's making want to buy one and see what I can get out of it.

Dang, that tour's been going for a while... I saw them down here last fall I believe. Brad must have talked the Fireflight guys into checking out Splawns. I think they were using DRs and such when I saw the tour.

I love my Quickrod!

I get more compliments on my tone with it than any other amp I've owned...and more questions like, "what the hell is a Splawn??"

That's right! I talked to both guys in Fireflight and one of them mentioned that they just switched over a couple of months ago. Definitely better than DRs.

And yes, I seemed to be the only person around the concert that ever heard of Splawn.

I know Disciple pretty good. Helped them out several times at Cornerstone Festival. Brad got me hooked on Splawns. I have a matching QR and OS 2x12. Used them last night at a battle of the bands. My other guitarist was using my DR 3ch. We were really heavy together, but i cut through better, even with an EQ in the loop.

Playing the Shoutfest Stage sunday. im stoked.

Hey bro, do you have a myspace or a website with links to your music? Our band could'nt do the battle of the bands for shoutfest because everyone was on taking their vacations

Yeah buddy... The show I was at was a bit busy to talk to the bands, glad to hear you got to chat. The Splawn's, to me, get heavy enough to do most stuff, anything I need to do, and they cut a lot better than the DRs.

I'm wondering... new Disciple album soon? I haven't checked their site in a while, but my internal clock's sayin' it's about time. :D
