I got to talk to both of Stephen Pearcy's guitarists after a show and was blown away at how great their tones were. I just had to figure out what they were doing.
Guitar wise, both used Charvels for the whole show which isn't surprising obviously. Both of them had two full Marshall stacks. Johnny was using JCM 900s and not sure about Erik but probably the same.
Johnny told me he is using only the power section of the Marshall and is using an Atomic Amplifire. His tone was insanely good. Erik was doing the same but was using a Tonex with a capture of his Splawn. They both sounded great.
