I think 3 months should sufficiently qualify for out of the honeymoon phase. I have finally found a proper niche for the 3 mods (BMAN, EG5, and VX) and have an idea of what I want to do with the COD once I get it. It took me a while to open my mind to twisting the EQ around to different settings for each of the mods. I originally had them set pretty similarly. My inclination was to crank the gain on the B channels. Now I'm finding that for the BMAN and VX both channels are residing somewhere between 11-1 o'clock.
Out of the three I think I still love the EG5 most. It is starkly different from any distorted tone I've previously encountered. That being said they all do something special. BMAN seems to get the most use surprisingly. In no way do I neglect the VX though. I think I will start to play a bit with tubes as I want to try to space them out even further. I couldn't be happier with my experience so far.
Here's to hoping for some new mods in '09.
