Quick ? Ever play and certain note, and have funny fuzz or buzz in the amp. Not cab, but the amp. I have heard in some conversations with techs that it could be one of my preamp tubes. Is this a normal reaction, if so I'm cool with it. Just want to make sure, if its not suppose to :m17: do this odd sound, should it be looked at by a amp tech. ---Retubed about 1 Month ago with some JJ tubes. Serviced. This is at low volumes mind you, but at full show levels it just SCREAMS! .

Do you mean ghost notes?
Could also be a faulty cap...

i noticed this effect when my v1 was broken/not working right.

after replacing it was gone, so invest 12 euro and get rid of it ;)

Sounds like broken speaker to me. Did You try another cab ?

Peter -- I just had the cab loaded with V30 about a month ago, along with retubing the head. You think it might be a bad speaker already? I will try my other cab tonite and see what happens. Its strange, only on really low volumes I can hear it in certain notes. --I will get back with you after I try my other cab.

Thanks

Hello Peter,

I put the amp on the floor away from the cab, same level and the rattle was GONE  My question then is that just a preamp spring vibrating maybe?. But if you think thats not right, I can send it anywhere you want for a more of a thorough inspection, other then that I can deal with it. Show: on the cab
Studio: on the carpet floor

oh yeah! the speakers are fine, The back panel had a slight noise, screw driver took care of that. ;)

Peter, you are good people! Thank you for your great company service, and support, and your overall concern.

Hmmmmmmmm .......... V1 can cause this noise.

Can You get a non microphonic 12AX7A-C or
a ECC83-JJ for first preamp tube ?

If I was looking from the front of the amp, which preamp tube is in the V1 position? This tube runs in all channels----should I try both that you recommend--and what the difference between the two.

Thanks,
Saul

V1 is closest to the input. Take a Chinese one
if possible.

Sounds like a plan, I'll have it replaced, and I will give you some feedback as soon as its done.

Well, its not any of the tubes. Changed tube, turned up and played the amp, tap on the valves-nothing. Turned down to lower levels and heard the rattle sound again in the center of the chassis. Turned the amp completely off, just started tapping around the amp trans, tubes, Logo. Started to pin point the sound and thought the last preamp tube had the rattle sound at the bottom of it. So I tap it and got it to rattle, tapped the others no rattle except the one next to it did a little. So I knocked on the chassis sounds like something loose, like a nut or more like a washer. So I thinks its best I have looked at. Afraid to get shocked by a cap or something worse. I am just glad it was not the electrical part of the amp. :) Ill let you know what he finds.
