i know this can be subjective, but roughly how high off the fret board are you guys strings.
i just set up my new guitar in drop C, with 10-52's.
I gave the neck a little bit of relief with the truss rod adjustment, but it seems the bass strings want to rattle quite a bit when strummed more than softly.
i can give the neck more relief as its still fairly straight when looking down the neck & also fretting the first & 14th checking the height of the 7th.
this is for the most part the first time im getting into drop C & so forth, any insight apreciated. Should i just expect a little string rattle with heavier gauged strings?
i dont have the guitar near me, but i wanna say im almost damn near a 1/4" off the board at the 24th fret.........

edit: forgot to mention, its a prs guitar, with the prs trem

Typical action is 2/32 treble and 3/32 bass. If its a 1/4 inch and still rattling it sounds like something else is going wrong.

String height is subjective. There is a trade-off with heavier guages and how low they will go without buzzing. I usually raise the bridge for the lower strings more than the high.

in short, it's a balancing act and you may find the heavier strings aren't worth the effort. Good luck.

That measurement i just gave you would be at the 12th fret.

hmm.... my neck is almost straight as a arrow, maybe i just need to give it more relief? i just dont want to go too far with it

also, really none of the other strings are buzzing, its mainly just the 52 bass string, & slightly the next largest

RG1527:
1/32'' on the high E measured @ 12th fret
2/32'' on the low B measured @ 12th fret
.016'' to .018'' of relief measured @ 9th fret
D'Addario 9-54 Strings tuned to standard B, E, A, D, G, B, E

here's my redneck tools for guitar setup.

paper matchbook or business card for checking neck relief at 7th fret.

Nickle for checking low E at 12th fret for string height.

Penny for checking high E at 12th fret for string height.

i've measured this stuff with calipers and they're super damned close for what's usually recommended.
