Just bought a Strymon Flint this afternoon, great pedal. i tried it on my practice board with a cheap multi adapter and got some interference, didn't have the same problem with my PP2. i read that this is because the power input is not isolated on the cheaper supply.

I can live with the noise its not that bad, but just wanted to check will i be damaging the pedal by running it on the cheap supply with the interference? sorry if it's a dumb question lol. Any help would be appreciated :-)

You will optimize the performance of the pedal - including minimizing any extraneous noise - by running it on an isolated supply at the required mA. I don't think you're going to ruin the pedal, but you're certainly not going to get it's best performance running it on a cheap daisy chain.

Don't know what much else there is to add.......

Thanks for the help :-) Just wanted to make sure I'm not gonna ruin the pedal.

Just realized that the strymon supply has a total of 660ma, would a daisy chain work from that if all i'm using is:

JHS Sweet Tea>Flint> TC Flashback?

My PP2 is bolted to my bigger board and dont want to lug that around to rehearsals. I'm almost certain the TC and JHS only draw 100ma each of power and the Flint is 250ma.

cheers

I'm not familiar with the Sweet Tea. In theory, 660 mA should be sufficient to more than power those three pedals. However, in practice, some pedals just do not work well in a shared power situation - regardless of whether or not there is sufficient power from a mathematical standpoint. If you are only using this approach for rehearsals, perhaps you'll be happy with the performance. I recommend you power the Strymon off an isolated tap/adaptor at shows though - again, you'll optimize both it's performance and headroom this way.

The Strymon pedals are "power hungry". I used to have 3 on my board.
