For those who might be steering clear of the Aldrich pickup, thinking it might be too hot, I would highly recommend giving it a shot. I think it's a big step up from the Duncan JBs and Customs I used to use. To my ears, it's much more evenly balanced, has a nice tight, defined low end and cleans up really great. Rolling down the guitar's volume yields much better results than I ever got with the Duncans.

Here are a couple of clips with the Aldrich in my Performance super strat. The amp is a Morris GCM 008.

For the first clip, the guitar's volume is rolled down about half way, but I'm still able to get all the bite and clarity I want.

2nd clip is some disjointed riffs/noodling with the guitar's volume anywhere between half way up and full out.

Without before and after comparisons of the same riff and settings without effects nobody will ever really know what the pickup sounds like.

Yeah, a head to head comparison of the Duncans and Aldrich, with the same guitar, amp, and settings would be ideal. I always appreciate people posting those kinds of comparison clips. My clips obviously don't do that. I just feel like some people might think that the Aldrich won't be for them because it's about 17.5K; I was a bit leery myself. My first clip was just an attempt to give some people an idea of what the pickup sounds like when backing off on the guitar's volume a bit. I love it because it's great for nice thick leads with lots of sustain and output when you run the volume full out, but when you back off on the vol. knob, you can really get into classic rock territory with tons of clarity/string to string definition.
