I've got an alder Suhr Classic (2009 model) with gotoh floyd and a maple/rosewood neck and ss frets.
I'm getting a twanginess on the high e that doesn't seem to go away with new strings or raising the action.
I've also lowered the pickups considerably to see if that would impact it.
I know strats get a twangy b string but in this case it's the high e.
Please help!

What happens if you crank down the fine tuner?
It sounds like the issue is in the saddle, wiggle the string back and forth at the saddle and make sure it does not slide around.

Will try that and thanks!
On another note will a standard fender pickguard fit on a classic?

Not without drilling a bunch of holes
We made our pickguard actually fit the body perimeter
You would be better off purchasing a pickguard from us.
