Guys I'dmostly like to know your wood combos for your Suhr guitars, and how they sound.

I'd also like to ask for opinions on] what wood combo you think would be best suited for Hard Rock, Classic metal tones, think GN'R, Van Halen, Whitesnake, Ozzy, Maiden ...
Although I do play other types of music, so versatility is a must.

1) Mahogany Body, Maple top, Mahogany neck and Pau Ferro board or rosewood fingerboard. SSH+, SSV

2) Basswood Body, Maple top, Maple neck, rosewood fingerboard. SSH+, SSV

Nico.

I have a killer standard and it ripps for hardrock and metal. I have been through 5 different Suhrs all different wood combos and my fave wood combo that Suhr does is
Basswood body.
maple top.
vulcanized maple neck.
Pau Farro fingerboard.
Have some aldrich pickups put in and your ready to rip.

I forgot to mention that When I get the extra cash my next one will be just a straight up Alder body and maple neck. Thats another killer wood combo.

That's what my new Suhr is. A Standard with Alder body, 1 piece Maple neck and Aldrich pickups.

Sounds amazing

How are you liking it? I have a Guthrie and a one off Modern with a black feathered Walnut top. Suhrs are great guitars. I have seen people complaining the action is too high on a Suhr. I have no idea what their problem is. I can ge my action perfect and as low as I would ever want. 4/64 at the 24th fret descending down to 3/32 on the treble side. Suhrs like to have their necks fairly straight. I set mine to a snug .009 at the seventh with a 24" rule going down the neck in between the D and G strings. Basically touching the G string.
