i ordered a aldrich for the bridge of my R9 last night and now im thinking about also ordering something for the neck, i really want something that will stay clean and im not sure what to get, does suhr make anything that would give me a nice clean neck tone that wouldnt break up when strumming chords, i might use this guitar at my church sometimes and i play ryhthm and wont be using any gain when i use the neck pu, when i neeed some gain i will use the aldrich.

I concur! I have one in a bridge position and that thing stays clean...twangy because of its postion in relation to string vibration....but clean.

Hey Zao, I was thinking of the exact same setup for my MM Petrucci the last few days, so I emailed them and this is what Ed Yoon at Suhr said about matching a clean neck pup with an Aldrich in the bridge:

"We recommend the SSV. It's a little brighter with less mids and more lows than the DSV. The DSV has more mids and smoother in the highs."

If you want to clean or brighten up on any les paul style guitar neck pickup, I have had good luck with changing volume pots to good quaility 500K's..Just my 2 cents.

i spoke to ed yoon and explained what i wanted in a pu and he told me to get the ssv uncovered, so i have a aldrich bridge and ssv neck coming my way very soon, i cant wait.

I've got a set of DSVs on the way from a fellow forumite for the opposite reason...they're going into kind of a bright guitar. Hopefully all the good stuff written about Suhr pickups is true!
