Quick question: Does the PT-100 have 5881 or EL34 tubes in it?
Suhr's website says EL34...but I've seen a few for sale that say they have 5881's.
If you get one with 5881's can EL34's be swapped or does that require a new tranny?

COmes stock w/ EL34s. You can get anything from EL34s to 5881s to 6550s etc. I am getting mine stock w/ EL34s. but with the option of biasing it to 6550s, which is what I'll most likely use in the long run.

So the 5881's can come out with only a rebias to the EL-34's?
Thanks!

I had 5881 and had it converted by Suhr to EL 34s. I do not think biasing is only involved.

It should be set up for the EL34's then you can put 5881's in but have to change a bias resistor
