Yo, hi folks!

my friends at Suhr sent me a Riot pedal and asked me to whip up a demo of it, boy it's a smoker, here's what I came up with:

if you just want the audio track, go here and click on "Riot Distortion":

It's a killer pedal, as you can hear, very aggressive but can be smooth as well, it's really made IMHO to run into a clean amp- if you gotta use a Twin Reverb or Blues Deville or something like that on a gig but you need to rock and rock hard, this is your pedal.

Damn that sounded good and you brought the heat Pete!

holy fuck...that's probably one of the best distortion pedals I've heard to date....and I'm not a big distortion pedal guy myself.

wow, that was completely badass, what great tones and what a great groove. That was killer Pete, you're one of my favorite players.

Hey Pete that sounded great! Can you give us some info on what gear you were using with it?

Thanks guys! It's a sweet pedal

the gear was my old Black Les Paul Custom, into the pedal, into either the clean channel of the PT100, or the Badger 30 set clean (pre gain on 3). cab is a Bogner 1-12" with a Scumback M75 65 watter, and mic'd with either a Shure 57 or a GT55 condenser (depending on the track I just picked one mic or the other, I didn't blend them). into API pres, Apogee Ensemble, and I use Logic 9.

Drums are Steven Slate drum samples, which are pretty badass for getting down quick ideas like this....

Wow...a GT55 on guitar. Haven't thought of that before. Man...do our mic collections mimic each other or what? :)

ya you know it sounds really good on guitar I think! I put it up because I lent my Heil PR30 to a certain iconic rock guitarist and now i fear I may never see it again hahaha so I tried the GT and damn if it doesn't sound really cool. It's a great mic for the $199 they charge...

did you get your Suhr guitar yet?

how is it as a tubescreamer style pedal for clean boosting a highgain amp? (gain off, level up, tone to taste)

That is a killer sounding demo Pete. That demo is going to sell a TON of those pedals.

That sounds great. It's almost insane just how high quality a product Suhr puts out. Especially considering that they make a whole slew of different types of gear. If they ever start doing cables, strings and time based effects, you'd have a one stop shop for everything you need.

well they sent me one too, and i intended on doing a demo.... Until now! thanks pete for killing it and making us all look bad! :D

incredible! tones, riffs, and leads are all top notch brotha!
