Was just browsing TGP and came across a Suhr thread, and John commented that the modern series comprises the majority of their sales.
That came as a shock to me!
I personally love and prefer the modern shape, but would have guessed that the standard style guitars would outnumber the moderns in sales volume.

John, if you're reading this, we need a tune-o-matic style bridge option on the moderns!!

And I was chatting with Don about Suhrs recommendation for cleaning maple boards/necks and this is what he told me in case anybody has been wondering:
" your guitar has our standard satin finish applied to the maple neck, so no oiling would be required! Wiping the guitar down after playing it is your first line of defense. If some grime starts to develop, you can clean it with a little naphtha (lighter fluid) on a cloth. Again, since you are not using naphtha on raw wood, no oil would be needed.
If the satin finish starts to gloss up a bit over the years, you can lightly hit it with a green scotch brite pad to get the satin feel back. This does remove a tiny amount of finish, so don't do this too often, only if you start noticing the finish glosses up a bit on the back. Never use the scotch brite on your frets"

24 fret shred guitars aren't what I would associate John's company with either.
They're marketed as boutique tone machines with shred performance though, so I guess they tick quite a few boxes.
Guthrie did a good job in marketing that guitar shape for years aswell so I guess he helped prove that a modern performance guitar is still able to produce lush, vintage tones.

I love my modern. If I could change anything about the guitar though, it would be the cutaway. I don't think it allows easy enough access to the higher register. Other than that, it's an incredible guitar.

I thought this as well. Thats all I see most of is Moderns. Not sure if this includes his Pro series though. That is mostly Standards.
