Hi!
Don't know if you read my post about my Chinese El34 going bad really fast in my Einstein 100W. Well, I tried those JJE34L and the difference was remarkable! (I only tried the JJEl34 before...)I thought they had weak bass and weak treble and sounded very compressed and tight. I had to crank both presence and treble to get some tone out of it...
I thought maybe they need some break in so I hooked up my Einstein into my Palmer (In Load-Box mode...), cranked the Master and played for some two hours. The 60Watt LED on the Palmer lit up regularly so I really pushed them
After that I hooked the Einstein back up to my 2x12 and now that was a sound! It really changed from super tight to just the right tightness treble extended and bass also.
I really like a tight bass response so I must say I prefer the JJs over the Chinese that sounded somehow bigger and more loose. IMHO the JJ sounds more like I think a EL34 should sound.
Now I'm curious how long those tubes will last...
Hope it is a useful feedback!
Best,
Stefan
