I got my Marshall 1960b stupid cheap off of craigslist a while ago, I knew it had g12t75's in it and they really don't sound that great to me, not bad, but just not great. I wanted to switch out two of them for V30's to have an X-pattern, and as soon as I found out it didn't require soldering I jumped on it. The switch took about 45 minutes and was pretty easy. I fired up my JCM800 and noticed the difference right away. The V30s really fill the void that the g12t75's leave, they brought a nice sounding midrange to the cab which was really bassy and treble'y before. I strongly recommend this to whoever has a stock marshall cab. Anybody else rocking the Xpattern?

both my marshall a and b cabs are stock '75's. i've thought about x'ing with v 30's.. but i keep myself on a pretty tight budget when it comes to gear.. it is afterall a hobby for me. i was thinking of trying those warehouse speakers vin 30 clones though.

I got the V30, T75 X pattern in my Avatar Vintage. Sounds great. It's actually a more balanced, smoother sounding cab than my Mesa, which just has V30s.

I have the X pattern in my Avatar Vintage as well. It sounds good, but over the last year I have liked the T75's less and less. Actually, I plan on swapping them out so it's all V30's...

I use a V-30 loaded 412 with my JCM 800 2204. I have been flirting with switching out two of them for awhile. Sounds great, so I have never done it. The grass always seems to be better on the other side however. I have been thinking about the G12h30's. Haven't seriously considered the 75's.

I personally can't stand marshall cabs loaded with 75's. But I do love my Uberkab

I HATE the Marshall 4x12 G12t-75 loaded cab I have back at home. Yesterday I went to my friend's music store and her boyfriend had this Marshall 4x12 loaded with V30's in there. Plugged my Roadster and the sound was badass. I HATE V30's in oversized Mesa Cabs but they sounded great in that Marshall cab. Loved what I've heard from a V30 for the first time in my life.

i've got a few projects that i'm working on right now.. so the cash is tight. i'm got some recording gak i'm trying to get the bugs worked out of.. and about three other guitar projects that are wating for me on my bench. i'm trying to clear the backlog before i move on to other projects.. otherwise they'll never get done. :D

I'm rocking the X pattern in one of my cabs and love the combination. Really fills up the sonic spectrum with the lows and highs of the GTs and the mids of the V30. I think those speakers blend great together.

yesh,

I also think they work well together. I don't mind 75's and I don't mind 30's, put them together and you get the best of both worlds, and if you mic in the studio, adds 2 different flavors and helps create a nice sound.

I too like the mix in my cab, I have a mesa with v30s and i changed out 2 for the GT75s and completely love it. Perfect balance.
