i’ll bite when they come up with small power amp modules with carefully curated IRs. Like the PT15IR concept.
So one can run a chosen pre module through an el34 stage or a 6l6 stage etc with more selectable shaping options on toggles, a la XTC excursion.

Synergy announced that a while ago. 20 watt lunchbox head with built in IR's and such. I'm a Synergy user and this doesn't interest me at all. I wish they went the opposite direction and released a 100 watt 3 module head. Either that or a better power amp with switchable topology like the old Line 6 DT amp that Bogner helped design.

Agree with the others, they need power amp shaping designs and NFR shaping options to help mimmick the feel and power section of the amp they are copying. They are always so close when run into the same poweramp of the amp they are copying. That's the play Synergy. Get on it.

For my favorite guitar sounds, power amp saturation is an important element (Marshall, Fender, Vox and Engl - these are all EL34 power sections except the Fender that uses 6 x 6L6); the only exception is when I want more liquid/glass-like high gain tones, which I get from my Mesa JP-2C, the 6L6 power amp factors less in the sound for me.
