HI guys, was playing the other day and all the balls of the T side disappeared and the vol dropped by half and crackled . The D side was still ok. As usual when I just fired it up then it seemed ok? Ive had a relay pop noise when switching from T to D ever since Iv had it from new. Maybe that has something to do with it. If I set all gain and masters identical....[gain 12 oclock, master full,] the D is heaps louder than the T..is this right? Thx in advance for any help!! ps happy easter!

You should always trouble shoot things like tubes first. Put some different preamp tubes in it and see. In general a post about a problem should include a list of logical trouble shooting steps you have already taken to rule out some stuff. Saves a little time ...

Tubes ... always a challenges and the first place to look for issues.

Lower the Gain or Vol of side A or B and that will stop the relay popping noise. I forgot which one but Jeff explained it to me a couple years ago when I bought mine.

Thx for the reply 3 mile and jlbaxe, I thought I had ruled out the pre tubes, as the D side was ok, and I think the T and D both use the same tubes?. Also if I drop the master on T it does reduce the popping but I lose the clean headroom. thx again

Yeah Jeff said that Popping issue is the nature of the beast and that was the only issue.

Yea, I though about that, but sometimes the different channels use different pins off the same tube. A long shot. I think you should call Bruce.
