Hey guys,

I got my T/D module this week and I noticed it has a BIG volume differrence between A & B.

For instance, on channel A, I have the the gain on 3 o'clock and master dimed with the amp master on 2 o'clock and it's not very loud at all.
More like loud bedroom volume--I certainly would not piss anyone off in the house playing at this level.

With the B channel gain and master set on 12 o'clock it's WAY loud with headroom to spare.

Just curious if this is normal on the T/D module or I have problem--My VX has an A-B volume difference, but no where near this much.

I have swapped tubes and there is no difference, so I'm looking for some comments from other T/D users.

Thanks in advance...

Its the same for me too on both modules, with the VX not having as big of a volume difference.

This does not sound right to me at all. I had a much harder time getting matching volumes with my Vx, but that was partly because I was running gain on A real low to try to stop the early breakup. But even still with the module master dimed and the overall master at 2 oclock, it should not be bedroom volume!

Id call the shop. Mine is not like that at all. If you are not getting a volume that can be heard over a drummer with those settings something is definitely not right.

Yeah, that is what I'm thinking.

I can run the T/D channel A dimed and the amp volume at 3 o'clock and sit in front of it and play all day--comfortably!

Hmmmm.

Thanks for the reply!

That is NOT the case for me. I was going to ask if you were running low or high power but even in low power mode it will be much louder than what Id call bedroom volume. Call the shop.

Ok here is the deal. The Twin is the lowest gain module. All modules must be set to the Twin being the starting point. Gain at 12 and master at 2, then using your main master to get the approitate volume. All other modules with substancial gain are then set accordingly to the output of the Twin. Does this make sense? This usually solves the output problem. If it does not then there definatly is a output failure on the module board.

Jeff

Jeff I agree with you about setting relative volumes, but if the channel A master is dimed and the amp master is at 2 oclock my Twin is not at bedroom volume. I've played small unmiced gigs with the TD and the amp master at 2-3 oclock.

Agreed...just making sure that the first trouble shooting was done correctly!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Jeff I did try different settings to get unity settings on all 4 channels starting with the T/D channel A as the starting point. There was always a large difference between the volume levels and the amount of headroom.

Another strange phenomenon I discovered: with the amp on standby while set on T/D channel A, if I strum or pick on my guitar I get a static/distorted sound output through the speaker.
This only happens on T/D channel A--none of the other 3...

Strange.
