Well, its first workable iteration anyway-

Open to suggestions!

While could have crowded it on there, I decided to keep the Tourmaster footswitch off of it. Too crowded, and I don't always bring the pedalboard with me.

*Please tell me you have seen worse than this!*

Rounds of applause greatly appreciated! I had no idea what a task this would be, and it probably isn't fully complete anyway.

Behold:

Nice collection of pedals. Are you running your effects straight into the amp or are you using a buffer?

A bit of both, I guess. I am using the effects loop on the 4212- not putting the effects between guitar and amp. I experimented with that but wasn't totally happy with it. I don't know if the loop is buffered or not.

The Eventides can be set to buffered or direct and I have them set direct. The Murf is kind of weird- It talks about "true analogue bypass." I don't reallyknow what that means.

I am not using the buffered inputs on the switcher. The switcher is true bypass as are all of the effects.

So I guess I am not using any buffering, although I am not sure about the 4212 effects loop.

What does buffering do exactly? This is one thing I couldn't quite follow when I was setting all of this up.

Thanks!

;) :D

buffering converts a high impedance signal to a low impedance. if you're using the fx loop its probably tube buffered.. but if you're running all true bypass pedals out in front without a buffer, add up the distance of cable you're running.

its ideal to have the first thing in your signal chain be a buffer becuase it gets you a consistent signal through the rig. you could buffer your send back to the amp as well to ensure tonal bliss..

my only suggestions are, cut all your audio cable, and power cable to length. zip tie the cables down underneath the board, and make sure there is no stress on the cables, they'll last longer. it looks like one of them is stretched pretty hard

There is a tube on the 4212 for the effects loop, which is what I am using. I don't know if it powers it, buffers it, or both.

Many of the cables are cut to length. I am not totally finalized with this thing yet. I do see the one you are talking about underneath. I will probably fix that.

I am trying to keep costs down a bit, so I don't know if I am going to buy custom length power cables if I can use what I already have. Also trying to use audio cables that I have before buying more custom cable.

Already know I am going to have to re-jigger this thing a bit. I need to connect the MIDI between the two Eventides. Tap tempo on one can control the tempo on the other, and that is useful.

Keep the suggestions coming- Thanks!

Your white velcro is freaking me out, Len. FREAKING ME OUT!!!!

It is ugly, isn't it?

Nobody seemed to actually have Dual Lock in stock. While I did save a lot of money ordering the pedals and things on line, sometimes you just want to WALK IN AND BUY IT! These days the only stuff that people keep in stock is what flies out the door immediately. That's OK with something like the chorus and delay, but there was NO WAY I would buy a weirdo like the Murf without trying it IN PERSON first! Poor guy who actually had one in stock didn't actually get the sale. He was $419.00 plus tax, no expression pedal. Found it online for 399.00 no tax, free shipping, expression pedal included. YAY EBAY!

NOW they come out with a MIDI one, which is what I thought it needed. Maybe that is why I was able to get this one cheaper. Oh well!

Gotta pull the thing apart and rewire it now- MIDI between the two Eventides. Good for tap tempo, maybe one expression pedal controlling both units.

FUN!

I'll put up follow on pics when I am done with the re-do, maybe clips as well. The Murf is pretty once you get used to it.

The Murf is a weird one- Hard to describe. Technically it is a filter pedal, like a wah. But it has aspects of delay, and it can sound a bit lit a chorus or phaser as well. It is kind of an EQ also.

Do a YouTube search for it. Plenty of stuff on it.
