What's the best way to get the tube retainers out of the VH-4? It seems to be a huge pain in the ass... does anyone happen to know what size the small nut on the underside of the chassis is? I can't just turn the philips screw head on the top side, because the nut underneath just turns and needs to be stabilized... I don't have my tools at my house so I have to go borrow some, and want so sizes so I know what to grab, thanks!

I removed the tube retainers a long ago when I started to experiment with different tubes in my VH4. I do not remember exactly what tools I did use, but it was not difficult at all and took only something like 5min for all of them - Maybe I used some sort of pliers.

This might be a bit stupid and definitely is not ment to be any kind of insult, but if you are from US you might want to try also wrench that is millimeter based as the amp is made here in Europe. :D

Do it in 2 minutes...Aircraft snips or bend the tube retains down. ;)

Its a royal pain in the ass. Make sure the house is quiet & allow yourself like 2hrs to do it. There isnt alot of room there...so take your time. :) Tools Needed: Patience, M3 nut driver, Phillips Screw Driver & an extension Magnet for when you drop the lockwashers!!
